Making the pension irrelevant – Vanessa’s vision

This month we held our cast briefing for the visionary partners we collaborate with on The Investment Series. We held the briefing at Stone & Chalk, the fintech hub in Sydney. It is the home of Capital Preferences in Australia, our partners on the innovative Economic Fingerprint game, which indicates a person’s true preferences toward taking risks and their money.

It is also a place that is full of the hope for the industry of tomorrow: where technology, ideas, social experimentation and funding meet to create new ways to do business in our industry. It has an energy and promise we found invigorating.

The briefing was the first time we had bought together all our partners in The Collective, who have united with the belief that a group of brands and individuals promoting and making accessible education about our industry has a power to it that no one voice can achieve alone.

It was an important occasion for us, as we had a big story to tell: one of a possible economic tsunami coming to gen x and y in Australia, according to the work of another collaboration partner, social researcher Mark McCrindle.

It was also important for us to put a stake in the ground, and commit to our purpose as the creators of No More Practice and The Investment Series. As we told The Collective, we are making the pension irrelevant.

Through our education and collaboration with visionaries in our industry, we are working hard every day to make the pension irrelevant for Australians.

It’s an ambitious vision, and there is a lot to do. We are calling on many more experts in the industry to help us achieve this goal. The skills, knowledge and experience in our industry is second to none. We aim to make the pension irrelevant for more than a million Australians over the next ten years by pooling our resources as a collective and sharing our knowledge and experience in an interesting and easy to understand way.

If you would like to join us, read our mission statement from the briefing here or view the full slideshare presentation below, and then drop us a line and tell us what you believe you could contribute.

The right mix of skills, experience, knowledge and expertise are all essential for us to achieve this goal.

Over the past nine years the No More Practice community has continued to grow. We look forward to taking the next step forward together to help Australian investors understand and engage with our industry like never before. The results can truly change the face of our nation.

If you want to be part of our mission to make the pension irrelevant, tell us about what expertise you can bring to the table by sending us an email.
