The FPA just launched a new adviser initiative

The FPA has rolled out a new CPD solution to its members.

The My CPD portal is part of the FPA’s online platform, and allows members to find and track up to 4,000 hours of CPD content from more than 100 suppliers.

Explaining My CPD, FPA chief executive Dante De Gori said: “We set out to build a solution for our members that gives the largest aggregation of FPA and FASEA accredited CPD options in one place.”

“It’s a one stop shop for accessing nearly 4,000 accredited CPD hours from a range of key partners,” he continued, “and the FPA itself which offers a range of CPD opportunities online and through its events.

“With convenient, flexible and fast access to content, My CPD makes it easy for FPA members to stay on top of their CPD requirements. No other platform will offer this diversity – it is truly a game changer.”

The search component of My CPD allows advisers to find CPD options – including webinars, courses and articles – by CPD area, number of hours and format of delivery. The FPA said it will update its library weekly.

The tracker, currently in “starter” phase, lets advisers export copies of their CPD records, schedule future CPD hours and search their training history.

The release of this tool follows the FPA unveliing a new program aimed at providing its more than 14,000 members counselling and support services following pressures partly triggered by the Royal Commission and FASEA requirements.

FPA Wellbeing, developed in partnership with Benestar, is a confidential program where members can receive free and comprehensive support. This includes phone, face-to-face and live chat services as well as a library of health and wellbeing resources.

Explaining the new program, FPA chief executive Dante De Gori referenced the spectre of the Royal Commission and said that the profession is in the midst of “extraordinary change.”

“Higher education standards are forcing many of us to go back to the books and study,” he said, “which is not easy when you’re running a business, a family, and volunteering in your community, like so many of our members do.”

He added: “Let me be clear that raising standards and advancing change is absolutely necessary, but at the same time very, very difficult.

“We’re encouraging members to prioritise their wellbeing and reach out if they need more support to navigate the changes affecting all of us in different ways. Our new FPA Wellbeing support program is one way to do that.”
