Why Brimble is necessary

Tasked with identifying new and interesting streams of education for our community, I am always looking for new ideas, and different ways to continue the conversation with you, our industry, to demonstrate thought leadership, new ways of thinking, challenges and solutions. Our education has to be entertaining, personal and different.

With that in mind, I am very happy to launch our latest conversation mini-series, with a co-host I respect immensely.

Dr. Mark Brimble has redefined traditional academia for me. For a start, he’s young (at least younger than I am), which is refreshing to see for someone so accomplished. He is also thoughtful and modern in his views. He is able to see both sides of the argument and provide a depth of research and expertise to support his position.

The work he and his team did with us on our research into Generation X, which demonstrated that up to 80 per cent will fall short of a comfortable retirement, was groundbreaking. It helped us reach more than 4 million people with this sobering message and was the launchpad for our TV show on Channel 9 which continued the conversation.

He is however, someone who pursues solutions, rather than just highlighting problems, and this is probably the thing that I like about him the most.

When I undertake Thought Leaders interviews, I ask questions to show our community a side of my guest they don’t normally reveal in regular corporate communications. Mark is such an easy person to talk to that the alchemy of having him as to co-host other leaders in this space is natural and entertaining.

This mini-series will invite true thought leaders who discuss their views and solutions on how we solve one of the biggest financial crisis this country will ever see, if left untouched – the intergenerational wealth transfer, and the survival of Gen X and beyond in retirement.

I look forward to sharing this mini-series with you and encourage you to pass it on to friends and clients to help this important conversation get out there.

Enjoy the series,
